THE ENEMY WITHIN

 Hello guys, last week was an awesome time. Am confident all things are working for your good all through the week.

Today also comes with a special and personal blessing. Today is for you, it is about you, are you ready?🤗

Let us hit the nail in the head. There are different types of enemies, enemies that are not close but are attacking effectively from a distance, enemies from one's background( back here in Nigeria we call them "village people"🤣). 

But the type of enemy we are considering today is an enemy that is  closer to you than the cloth you are putting on, that enemy follows you everywhere you go.

Some of the tangible problems that we have are not mostly caused by the enemy without, some are mostly caused are caused by the enemy within.

Who is this enemy within? I know you must be angry at this fellow, who is eating you up from within. Today we receive freedom and victory, finally freedom is here Hallelujah!!!

The enemy within is YOU. Well, I know you are wondering how? The Bible verse Romans 8:31 ask a question, and the common answer to this question is:- Nobody. 

The reality is - If God is for us, the only person that can be against us is us. How? To know more about "how" let us consider the story of Judas Iscariot( our main character for today).

Judas Iscariot was one of Jesus chosen disciples, When we study the Bible carefully we see that he was close to Jesus. Jesus loved him and made him their treasurer(John 13:29).

But then, something terrible happened. Judas Iscariot allowed the devil to possess him by giving in to greed and that was how Judas Iscariot allowed the devil to destroy him.

Judas Iscariot received power from Jesus over the devil together with the disciples(Matthew 10:1). How then did the devil enter him? He gave the devil permission to destroy him. 

Psalms 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." 

How does things enter us? The answer is very simple, through our eyes what we see, through our hears what we hear and through our mouth what we say.

When we read through the word of God carefully  we will discover that Jesus emphasize greatly  on all these three parts.

How does these parts affects us..we will quickly discuss that

. 1. What we see..

What we see daily  can torment us  and eventually  destroy us. 2 Peter 2:8 "Yes, he was a righteous man who was distressed by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day."

On the good side, what we see can build us to be strong.  Psalms 36:9 "For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light."

Hebrews 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." 

2. What we hear... 

One thing we should treat with so much care is our heart. What we hear daily enters our heart and it dictate who we are. 

 

Whatever enters the heart through what we hear grows. Our heart is like a soil in which seed is planted in, whatever seed you plant in your heart through what you hear will grow and magnify it self.

Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." 

Psalms 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."

3. What we say....

The manifestation of what we receive into our heart by what we hear comes out through our heart. 

God's expectation of you is that your words transform, illuminate and change lives. Not otherwise. 

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." 

Every word that comes out of your mouth you will testify to it on the last day. 

Matthew 12:36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." 

In conclusion

The Holy Spirit in us is an annoiting to manifest and demonstrate the power of God to the world.

The Bible says in Acts 10:38 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." 

To maximize this power extensively just believe,  Mark 16:17 "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;" 

Mark 16:18 "They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." 

This is the normal life of a child of God, but with all these amazing power available the enemy within can limit a person to end up in hell. 

There are some people who lived a life filled with power and they maximized it, but the enemy within killed it all at the end. Jesus talks about such people in  

Matthew 7:21-23 

It says Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 7:22 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?" 

Matthew 7:23 "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." 

The enemy within are the sins you are fighting in secret, that sin you are struggling with. No one knows but Jesus knows, the fact that you are ministering in the power of God does not make you free from hell. 

Freedom is here now! Go to Jesus right now and confess everything. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-29

Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." 

Matthew 11:29 "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." 

Jesus is waiting for YOU!
